They are full of heart, and characters who are beautifully flawed. The stories she brings to life are so special. Britton's writing style is simply breathtaking, and she is one of my favorite authors who is a must-read. This is the third book in Christina Britton's "Isle of Synne" series, and what an amazing series it is! I believe this book can work as a stand-alone novel as well. Whenever I picked up "A Duke Worth Fighting For", I was whisked back in time to the Regency Era, and went on such an emotional journey with the novel. WOW WOW WOW! This book is BEYOND WORDS! It is moving, emotional, heart-wrenching, pulls at your heart strings, romantic, full of hope, and so much more. I've loved the series so far but this is definitely my favorite! It's a beautiful story of finding love again after loss, and loving someone despite your fears. Margery sees the kind and handsome man he is beneath the scars, but she's torn between honoring her husband's memory and wanting to live her life. He feels less than that he's no longer as strong and capable as he once was and I just wanted to give him a hug. He's socially awkward, terrible at small talk, and is so sensitive about his scars. but it was beautiful to watch them navigate their new feelings.ĭaniel had my whole heart, what an excellent character. Margery offers to help him find a bride in Synne, so he can avoid the marriage mart of London.ĭaniel and Margery grow close as they navigate the social scene of Synne, while starting to fall for each other. The time has come for him to find a wife to provide an heir, he's not too particular about who it is, as long as they can overlook his scars and limp. She has vowed to never remarry but her meddling grandmother has other plans.ĭaniel, the Duke of Carlisle, has returned from Waterloo scarred and more socially awkward than ever. Margery's friends have one by one found love and started families, while Margery remains faithful to the memory of her deceased husband. I've been looking forward to Margery's story from the beginning of the series, and this did not disappoint.
